For Drafting with 4-6 Players
Or a Sealed Experience for 2-3 Players
Hello and welcome to my Cube's page! :)
If you love Artifacts, Legendary permanents and Enchantment Synergies (including Sagas, of course), you've come to the right place: Emily's Historic Cube!
This Cube originally started as a 360 card Cube centered around cards I opened in my TSR and MB1 boxes. Although some of these original cards can still be seen in the list, we as a group had the problem that we often had only pods of 6 players to draft with, but still wanted to see all the cards the cube had to offer; thus the decision was made to cut the size down to 270 cards, so the Cube would better fit our usual pod size, and would even work for 4 players.
Advantages
I also quickly found that the sealed format improved a lot with the new Cube size. Since I was restricted in building the Cube by not wanting to spend an enormous amount of money on new cards, redundancy was kind of tricky with 360 cards, it was more one-offs and a bunch of niche strategies. This new Cube size also works perfectly for a 2 (or 3) player Sealed Experience, which my partner and I enjoy from time to time.
The new size also helped to bring a new focus to the archetypes.
Disadvantages
The most obvious would be: You can't draft this Cube with more than 6 players, shucks!
It doesn't matter too much for our small group, since it would be a little miracle if we'd get a group of more than 6 people together at the same time in the first place, but it will definitely matter for other people.
Also, there is less space for niche strategies that could come up when seeing the right cards in draft. Still, I feel like the archetypes we ended up with are diverse enough in themselves that the draft still feels different enough each time.
Archetypes
Centered around two color combinations, the archetypes (primary; secondary) are as follows:
: Artifacts; ETB/Blink
: Exploit; Surveil
: Sacrifice; Burn
: Legends; Elfs/Shamans
: Enchantments; Lifegain
: Tokens; Aristocrats
: +1/+1 Counters; Graveyard/Lands
: Landfall; +1/+1 Counters
: Wizards; Spells
: Feather/Sram; Legends
(Click on the Archetypes to see what an optimized build would look like)
Drafting is also supported, though you'd probably be based in
/
for the artifact support or
for the Ramp. Still, I even managed to build a mostly Colorless build from a Sealed pool (this one), that felt quite powerful and synergistic!
There is also the possibility to go 3+ Colors, with Legends being the best supported Archetype. You can see a version of the optimal build here.
The following archetypes are semi-supported:
: Wizards
: Shamans
: Reanimator
Feel free to try some Sealed Pools from the playtest tab or leave a comment, feedback is always much appreciated! :)
Have fun and most of all: A nice day!
Meinungen gerne willkommen, here's what I'm thinking about:
Mögliche Replacements für Naban, Dean of Iteration
Valley Floodcaller
Thundertrap Trainer
Triton Wavebreaker
Ephemerate
Lae'zel's Acrobatics
Felidar Guardian
Würde maybe Momentary Blink ersetzen, die is gerade jedoch Teil der 4 -Karten
Kreaturen mit ETB-Triggern
Mulldrifter
Peregrin Drake -> easy infinite mit Eldrazi Displacer, don't know if thats good or bad
Agent of Treachery -> auch sehr sweet mit Persist
Other ideas:
Shapesharer
Taurean Mauler
Maskwood Nexus
Universal Automaton
Bloodline Pretender
Anyways, thanks for reading, freu mich schon auf den nächsten Draft :)
