Cube philosophy - Rules of engagement
The cube is designed rather synergy driven than pure power driven. Typical must picks or "auto includes" (Sol Ring, Smothering Tide, Torment of Hailfire, ...) are not part of the cube.
For the same reason I left out Signets and Talismans to make Green the color which can ramp before tun 3. The other mana rocks have mostly mana value 3 if they can produce multiple/any color.
Mechanics such as Initiative and Monarch are highly welcome to promote interactive gameplay.
