Hi! I'm snapscoop and this is my Pauper Cube. As I love Pauper format and enjoy cubing, so I've decided to combine them both and create something amazing!
My approach for this cube was to either being able to create certain archetypes in 2-color combinations or create midrange "good stuff" decks in 3 colors or more. As I love Pauper I wanted to bring some cool synergies and interactions that are used in this format to the cube along with well known Pauper staples through the format history. There is only one rule in cube:
all basic lands are snow basics
It's caused by the pressence of Arcum's Astrolabe as a solution to support this card easily.
The control style of Azorius is the flicker strategy. By using cards like Archaeomancer or Mnemonic Wall combined with Ephemerate or Ghostly Flicker we are able to create almost endless amount of value to overhelm an opponent supported by other ETB creatures.
Flying TempoThe aggresive side of Azorius is tempo-oriented deck based on flying creatures. By using evasive creatures with a build-in interaction ability like Ardenvale Tactician or Frost Trickster supported by other spells to out-tempo the opponent like Feeling of Dread or Plumes of Peace you can easily win the race.
The Orzhov colors allows to create an aristocrats style of deck based on tokens. By deplyoing token generators like Icatian Crier or Cenn's Enlistement chumping big attackers and being utilised by black payoffs like Vermin Gorger or Lampad of Death's Vigil or maybe go wide and one shot with Harsh Sustenance
ControlOrzhov Control benefits from black premium removal like Cast Down or Arms of Hadar and draining opponent from life using extort mechanic - Tithe Drinker or Basilica Guards which loop perfectly with cards like Cage of Hands
The major archetype of Dimir is control. With support of countermagic like Mana Leak and excellent removal like Agony Warp you can easily control the game until lategame and win through the various number of wincons like Capsize or Jace's Erasure
MidrangeThe other way to build Dimir is to create evasive midrange deck that benefits most from 2 for 1 cards like Recoil, Jhessian Thief and others.
Izzet Tempo is an agressive archetype that tries to put an aggressive board pressence at the early stages of the game with cards like Delver of Secrets, Monastery Swiftspear or Looter il-Kor following up with cheap payoofs like Moon-Circuit Hacker or Tandem Lookout and controlling the game with efficient tempo plays like Snap or Jilt
SpellslingerThis archetype is similar to the previous one, however it benefits more from casting cheap spells like Frantic Search or Gush to trigger payoffs like Bloodwater Entity or Spellgorger Weird
Rakdos colors are all about sacrificing stuff for value. This archetype is very wide as you can sacrifice creatures like Nested Shambler or artifacts like Ichor Wellspring and build a slower, value deck, or go fast with early threats.
If you want to build more aggressive style, Fireblade Artist and Carrion Feeder applies early pressure with sacrifice fooders Carrier Thall or Grim Initiate, with a support of other aggressive cards like Spike Jester or Blightning and can easily finish off the opponent with Makeshift Munitions or Reckless Abandon.
The slower build tries to gain as much value as possible through to Ashnod's Altar or changing every small token to a serious threat with Cranial Plating. Vermin Gorger or Undertaker are the definite all stars of this archetype that lets you slowly drain your opponent from life and keep your board full of creatures by discarding redundant lands.
Golgari Graveyard benefits from filling your graveyard with cards like Grisly Salvage or Gray Slaad to utilise it in various ways, for example through Tortured Existence, Rank Officer or Hooting Mandrills
MidrangeGolgari midrange consists of a lot of efficient creatures like Putrid Leech or Dreg Mangler that keeps pressuring opponent and uses other spells that allows you to 2 for 1 efficiently.
Grull Aggro is characterised by an extremely low curve and sacrificing lands in order to pull ahead in game, like Rogue Elephant or Orcish Lumberjack.
RampRamp strategy uses multiple mana dorks like Priest of Titania or enchantments Wild Growth to cast big aggressive creatures Boarding Party and spells Fireball
Boros Midrange-Aggro
It’s a more of aggressive style of midrange deck using powerful aggressive creatures like Tenth District Legionnaire, Splatter Thug or Seeker of the Way alongside with powerful combat tricks and removal Fire at Will, Emerge Unscathed.
Boros TokensArchetype focused on creating wide board with cards like Raise the Alarm or Beetleback Chief and finish opponent by pumping whole team with Stirring Address or Rites of Initiation
Selesnya Counters uses creatures with heroic mechanic like Akroan Skyguard or outlast Tuskguard Captain,
spells allowing you to put counters on multiple targets Travel Preparations or Captured by Lagacs and proliferate your board with Bloom Hulk or Unbounded Potential.
Main goal for the archetype is too keep creating tokens by Sprout Swarm or Selesnya Evangel to enable payoffs like Glimmer Bairn or Cloakwood Swarmkeeper and beat opponent by going wide with a help of You Meet in a Tavern or Sigil Blessing.
AurasThis archetype is focused on using hard to kill creatures like Silhana Ledgewalker or Lagonna-Band Trailblazer with powerful enchantments like Rancor or Ethereal Armor
Simic ramp similar to Gruul ramp is focused or gaining a lot of mana by Growth Spiral or Eureka Moment to take over the game by casting high cmc value spells like Wavesifter or Capsize
3rd color supportSimic is also a great support for other archetypes, especially controls, midrange and flickers, due to the fixing and ramp availability alongside with countermagic and other value cards that helps you grind through the game.
