War of the Spark was an awesome set.
The archetypes are as follows:
Amass Decks
-Blue-Black is a grindy, controlling deck looking to play the long game and win with a huge zombie army.
-Black-Red is much more aggressive and has a minor creature-sacrifice theme.
-Blue-Red is a “spells-matter” deck that utilizes both the amass and proliferate mechanics.
+1/+1 Counters Decks
-Blue-Green deck has access to both the amass and proliferate mechanics.
-Green-White, meanwhile, has plenty of ways to proliferate, but needs some help getting +1/+1 counters on its creatures and toughness matters sub-theme.
Other
-Black-Green is the “multicolor green” deck of the format, with ramp and deathtouch theme.
-Blue-White is the flyers deck of the format, as is tradition.
-Red-White is an aggressive deck, full of cheap creatures and combat tricks.
-Red-Green is a beatdown deck featuring some of the beefiest creatures in the format.
-Black-White doesn’t appear to have a strict theme, but the power level of its removal is high enough to pull you into these colors.
The goal of this cube is to keep this as a set cube, while upgrading the playable cards in order to increase the level of limited play. This would mean replacing vanilla creatures with more thematically aligned cards that highlights the existing archetypes that hopefully make better game play.
