This cube is designed for people that love the original soul of this game and are down to play with some old, slow, gorgeous, crappy cards. Don't worry though, there's plenty of really good ones in there too. If you played a lot of magic in the Tempest block thru Odyssey block days, you'll get a robust nostalgic kick out of the majority of cards you open.
All cards other than nonbasic lands and Portal printings are from the plane of Dominaria. Although recent sets have revisited Magic's OG plane frequently, most of the cards here are Onslaught block and older. The Dominaria constraint is to emphasize old cards, old play patterns, and old flavour.
This cube does not contain many cards that are more than 10-15 dollars, and most are much lower.
Old Magic is about grinding out incremental advantage, sequencing, and combat, while casting useful (and occasionally quite powerful) spells. Such is the core identity of this cube. Many traditional limited archetypes are extant in some way/shape/form, but the composition of the cube is from the heart and very much a work-in-progress. After five to ten 4-player drafts, I am really happy with the balance, competitiveness of games, and play patterns.
My love for old magic is undying; the art, the borders, the feel, the ink, the cardboard, the memories. As long as that is captured in every draft, and the games are competitive, the dream lives on =D
