This is my non-white cube! My goal was to make a cube that would focus on my four favorite shards / wedges; Jund, Grixis, Temur and Sultai. This does however mean that white had to go! Sling some spells, sacrifice some creatures, and play some beaters.
- DIMIR : The best laid plans are the slowest ones. Dimir houses the best removal spells in the cube and looks to use it all. With Dimir you want to wear your opponent out of resources with discard spells like Thoughseize, Duress, and Hymn to Tourach, or mill out your opponents with the likes of Ruin Crab, Hedron Crab, and Patient Rebuilding.
- RAKDOS : Sacrifice! Use cards like Mayhem Devil, Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and more to sacrifice your creatures and drain out your opponent! You want to be aggressive and smash face while not worrying if your creatures hit the bin.
- GRUUL : Lets turn cards sideways!! Gruul aims to be put out big creatures, or make your small creatures B I G. Creatures like Halana and Alena, Partners want to buff your creatures. Quartzwood Crasher wants to hit hard and overwhelm your opponent with other large dinos. Finally Avenger of Zendikar and Phylath, World Sculptor want to overwhelm the board with plants and make them big!
- IZZET : Lets get ready to sling some spells! Cast some small instants and sorceries to make creatures like Monastery Swiftspear and Sprite Dragon big, or slowly drain out your opponent with pinggers like Firebrand Archer and Guttersnipe.
- GOLGARI : The graveyard is always a resource for you to reuse! Golgari wants to sacrifice creatures, and then bring them right back. Use creatures like Old Rutstein and Skull Prophet to mill yourself, and then reanimate creatures with the likes of Reanimate, Exhume, Unearth, and more!
- SIMIC : Simic wants to GROW. In the spirit of the Quandrix College of Strixhaven; Simic wants to place +1/+1 counters on one or more creatures and see them get bigger. Key creatures are Forgotten Ancient for growth every turn, or planeswalkers like Kasmina, Enigma Sage to creature walking +1/+1 fractals
- GRIXIS : Lets get ready to sloooooow down. Grixis is all about value engines, and draw - go. Poppet Stitcher, Young Pyromancer, and Sedgemoor Witch let you build a wall of tokens, an abundance of removal and counterspells will keep your life total high, and creatures like Torrential Gearhulk will let you recast spells like Magma Opus or Sublime Epiphany will have your opponents scooping
- JUND : Jund takes sacrifice to a whole new level. Jund doesn't go for speed, but instead looks to ping down your opponent while having a host of powerful creatures like Elder Gargaroth, Hornet Queen, Carnage Tyrant. Hit hard, and drain your opponents down to zero.
- TEMUR : Go big or go home! Temur wants to have it all. Plenty of lands, and only the biggest creatures. Look to ramp out early with mana dorks like Birds of Paradise and Tangled Florahedron, pump your creatures up with enchantments like Wizard Class and Ranger Class, and turn it all sideways to big damage!
- SULTAI : Everything can be powerful when you are in Sultai. Sultai wants to recur the most powerful spells with the likes of Muldrotha, the Gravetide, or double down on ETB's with Yarok, the Desecrated. You can go the route of reanimation, or ramp out big and put out the scariest threats like Archon of Cruelty, and Sheoldred, Whispering One.
Packs are broken into 16 cards, and the idea play group is 4 or 8 people.
