This cube is under construction. It's my first cube, so I'm open to ideas and advice.

This is a Commander Cube (60 card decks) that I designed with the idea of NOT forcing different mechanics into one color combination (For example: UW: Blink, GW: Token etc.). About 80% of all creatures in this deck are humans. Even if you throw creatures of the various little sub-themes together (pirates, werewolves, equipment, vehicle...) they could all work together under one human lord.

I don't want the commanders to be drafted into custom made commander boosters.
I don't want every player to start with a standard pack of cards (such as Command Tower, Arcane Signet, etc.).
Other ideas are:
No color restrictions on spells, but on the manabase (Nature's Chant is legal in Mono W/G as a result). I don't think it's possible to make monocolored commanders playable in a draft.
Every commander has the "partner" ability.
Every monocolored commander has the "partner" ability.
That sounds too strong in my opinion, but it would make monocolored commanders usable.

BUT - I'm a big fan of "collected.company"'s Regalia.

I do NOT want to solve a mana problem with the Regalia. It's an essential part of Magic. Greed must be punished. However, I would like to get rid of color problems and make use of other commanders that would never work in a draft environment. Any player can draft their deck with the confidence of choosing ONE of these base regalia for free:

  • Your Commander has a White Color Identity in addition to its others.
  • Your Commander has a Blue Color Identity in addition to its others.
  • Your Commander has a Black Color Identity in addition to its others.
  • Your Commander has a Red Color Identity in addition to its others.
  • Your Commander has a Green Color Identity in addition to its others.
  • Humans you control are pirates in addition to their other creature types.
  • Humans you control are werewolfes in addition to their other creature types.
  • Humans you control are wizards in addition to their other creature types.
  • Humans you control are warriors, berserkers in addition to their other creature types.
  • Humans you control are knights in addition to their other creature types.

There are four wild cards in the draft pool. With a wild card you can choose an additional base regalia. For two wild cards you can choose from these other mighty regalia:

  • As long as your commander has two or fewer color identities, you may build a 50 card deck instead of a 60 card deck.
  • During deckbuilding, you may designate a non-legendary creature as your commander. It counts as legendary. Give it a name.
  • During deckbuilding, choose a legendary creature. It gains the "partner"-keyword.
  • During deckbuilding, you may designate a card with a (commander-)mark as your commander.

My hope is that with this design philosophy, no deck will look the same. Even if someone always drafts werewolves, they have the option to expand them with blue/black or white. Or choose a second commander that opens other color combinations and interactions. Very colorful decks will emerge. I assume that most decks boil down to three colors.
