This is a singleton cube built to slightly modify a retail experience. The environment is relatively slow compared to many modern cubes but similar in speed to a retail draft. To build this cube, I purchased several packs of both sets, the commander boxes for brothers war, and one box for each set. From there, I pulled together this cube from the themes that presented themselves from the cards pulled. The only updates that did not come from the box is the mana base to ensure that the fixing was improved. This also applies to the premodern diamonds as ramp.
The cube is unpowered and decks function best when they are drafted with two to three colors. The land fixing has helped smooth out the rough areas of the draft that typically crop up in a retail environment. The variance is quite high due to the larger cube size and the loose themes that are present. There is one special rule, all three of the original Urza lands are in the draft pool. If you draft one, you get the other two. This means that a single player could have three copies of each tron land in their deck if they pickup each individual land in the draft.
Themes:
White: Humans and Removal
Black: Graveyard Shenanigans and Sacrifice
Red: Goblins and Explosions
Blue: Thopters and Card Draw
Green: Stompy and Ramp
Artifacts play a large role in the cube to keep things moving and provide support/bombs where necessary. I'm a huge fan of artifacts and think the brothers war did a good job of brining them back into the limelight.
