Cube Draft is a casual Magic: The Gathering format where players draft from a custom pool of cards, called a Cube, designed for limited play.
Cube Origin
My Cube is built using only commons and uncommons, which is why it’s called a Peasant Cube. The pool consists of around 360 cards to draft from, ensuring a wide variety of picks and strategic choices.
The cards come from booster packs I’ve opened over time—ones that didn’t fit into my constructed decks but were too cool to leave unused.
Most of the cards are budget-friendly, typically around 1$, with some fluctuation up to 2$.
I created this Cube to play with friends who are beginners or don’t want to spend a lot of money on constructed decks but still want to enjoy Magic: The Gathering.
I carefully selected the cards to keep the games fun, balanced, and exciting. Every draft feels fresh and challenging!
How to Draft
Everyone gets 3 packs of 15 cards.
Open a pack, pick 1 card, and pass the rest to the next person.
Repeat until all cards are drafted.
Build a 40-card deck from what you picked (including lands).
General Guide on Drafting
Build a 40-card deck, typically consisting of 17 lands and 23 spells (creatures, instants, sorceries, enchantments, etc.). This is just a general guideline, the amount of land-spells ratio can be adjusted based on your deck's curve and specific needs.
Basic lands are free, so you can use as many as you need for your mana base.
