Literally forgot this wasn’t in the cube. Opps. Phelia and Flickerwisp have new friends.

Read that card very wrong. Get out!

We've got a long overdue update for Aetherdrift and ahead of schedule for Tarkir!

Moved out some of the cards that just haven't been performing and really were unimpressive in general. Batterskull and Opposition Agent certainly might come back, we'll have to see.

Coming soon, another large update to remove bad storm!

Nothing in Foundations really excited me. So just added the Cub and a late one with Kaito. Nothing crazy.

It is time for Twin's long tenure in this cube to end. It hasn't been fun for a while, its a mess to draft and it doesn't do what we want it to anymore. So its gone, in it's place some very cool new cards from Duskmourn and a plethora of the new Overlords. Next up, mana flare storm's time is coming.

Bloomburrow was not exactly a cube set for the history books. There are certainly some tribal cubes out there who will love this one but its not for me. So only a small two card shift. Gonti, which long since should have left and Bloodtithe, which may one day come back.

Green has needed some help for a while and red was filled with garbage that detracted from it's overall goal. This is no longer the case. Green has mostly changed to a land focused deck with additional support in red to make Gruul a desirable color combination to draft. Some of these changes are fairly experimental, Valakut being the most prominent of those but we'll see how they play.

Today marks a significant upgrade to the cube. This cube was first formed from the MH2 iteration of the MTGO Vintage Cube and modified from there. That was the original version of the cube that got posted here, its only fitting that the next iteration of the cube comes from MH3. With that change and the changes spawning from the cube contributors in the DMV area, I wanted to rechristen this cube to honor that.

MH3 is a big moment for cube, attributing to over half of the changes in this update. I bought over 50 cards of potential from MH3 and these are just the ones that made it in. More may join us later.

In addition to MH3, I readded the doomsday cycle of cards to buff up combo decks and removed some of the miserable storm cards that have long since aged out of relevance. And finally, I added an cycle of the bolt land MDFCs, mostly from MH3 but a few of the originals from Zendikar Rising.

And of course, a large portion of this is the classic "This was good on MTGO so lets try it" wave.

We'll see what stays and what goes but this should be a really good update and I'm excited to play it!

Yeah this set was uh, not good for Cube. When your best add is effectively a second copy of an already good card, thats a bad sign. But hey, I'll take the discount. At least we got a small little surprise card.

I'm utterly thrilled to see the end of Suspicious Stowaway in my cube. Now they just need to give me a better version of Tolavar's and I can have Day/Night forever banished from my Cube. Some of the other Caverns printings were just as equally simple strict upgrades and don't require much thought. Others are cards that have performed quite well in 60 card formats, notably Triumph and Broadside and I wanted to try them in the cube. Finally, Hullbreaker Horror and Karmic Guide never should have left and I am correcting that injustice.

This was easily the worst card I've ever tested in the cube. Oh well. Welcome back Sylvan Caryatid.

Big ol update!

First portion, is going to be updates basically from the new MTGO Vintage Cube changes. Palantir has massively over performed as has Mox Opal and I've been looking for an excuse to cut Metalworker and Port since I made it. (Note: Adding Palantir with the edit function was bugged so thats why you see it as a modification and a removal for Worn rather than a clean swap)

Second portion is testing, I want to see how the Talismans are over the Signets. They're a big ol maybe. Same with Snap and Invasion. We'll keep an eye on them as we draft.

Final portion is new WOE cards! I'm very excited to test Beseech and Likeness Looter, we'll see how they are. Scalding Viper will hopefully put a bit more of a check on Storm, which has been doing super well.

Expect to see another update later with some minor changes.

Time for The One Ring to shine! It saddens me to have Coercive Portal leave but The One Ring just slots in so perfectly over it. I'm sure I'll get over my disappointment the first time I draw 4 off it. Other changes are cutting some chaff for good new additions, nothing too crazy.

A surprisingly small update for this return to an artifact based plane. I expect mirrodin sets to be filled with more busted cards but instead this was a fairly tame iteration. However, there were three cards that clearly made the cut and just as equally filled places held but inferior cards. Whereas Gideon Blackblade is just a bad card and I wanted it cut as soon as I remembered it was still in my cube. That blight has been corrected.

Yeah it turns out two card combos with cards that absolutely can't stand on their own are really bad. Mishra and Urza's pairs can stand on their own but Titania was just really bad, our NYE draft had them be picks 14 and 15 for a player. So they're leaving. That same draft also had a first picked Time Vault and Manifold Key ended up being in the packs that weren't used so uh, not again.

Other updates are a few cards I've been meaning to add for a while and some very nice old frame updates. Feel free to check those out on Twitter, @RFreeburger!

The annual Holiday Cube on MTGO has shown these cards deserve spots and now they have them.
