Reducing the cube by 10 cards allows me to fit everything in my storage box much better. That's it really.

Removing a bunch of cards that don't make a ton of sense with the new direction I want to take the battlebox. (See blog post below)

Over the holidays, a couple of things happened:

  1. This battlebox was originally designed to be able to switch between 1v1 and multiplayer, depending on the situation. I realized that I have ONLY ever played it multiplayer. As such, I have made some changes that firmly solidify the battlebox as a multiplayer one.

  2. I have made the decision to remake my unpowered legacy+ cube, so a bunch of cards will be cannibalized from here to make that happen. But fear not! The majority of cards removed will be pricier ones (otherwise I'll just get copies for both) that don't really fit that well here anyway, such as Earthcraft. The big win here is that with the existence of the new legacy+ cube, I don't feel the need to shoehorn cards into the battlebox that don't make a ton of sense just because I like them. They now have a new home.

  3. I've decided I really like the idea of a bar cube. Now, this battlebox won't ever be a bar cube but I like a lot of the design philosophies behind it. Once again I am making a pass to reduce complexity & bloat.

Small tweak to swap out cards that exile all cards from a graveyard because I think it's too punishing against certain cards. I'm more interested in play patterns that can do it piecemeal.
