Finally, Green , Multicolored, and Colorless
cards...
Considering ZNR - Inscription of Abundance, Lithoform Engine, and Crawling Barrens all were easy additions. Besides these, Oran-Rief Ooze and Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats are getting added to the sideboard. Elder Gargaroth, The Great Henge, and Dream Trawler are all examples of cards that I seriously underestimated initially.
Otherwise, the A-List underwent some exchanges. Edric, Spymaster of Trest and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx will be high picks in the B-Sides, while Nissa, Worldwaker may have been the single strongest green card, warranting an upgrade.
Lastly, as always, the fate of the cut cards is below!

Wild Nacatl, Young Wolf, Strangleroot Geist, Once Upon a Time, Overwhelming Stampede, Rancor, Treetop Village, Dimir Charm, Ghor-Clan Rampager, Ice-Fang Coatl, Saheeli, Sublime Artificer, Chained to the Rocks, Bane of Bala Ged, Cultivator's Caravan, and Fleetwheel Cruiser will be added to the sideboard, while the remaining cards are to be fully cut.
Next, the Black and Red
cards...
Here there are more ZNR additions, namely Skyclave Shade, Soul Shatter, Leyline Tyrant, Roil Eruption, and Roiling Vortex. There are many other cards that I'm also excited to finally implement, including Isareth the Awakener, Priest of Forgotten Gods, Dreadhorde Invasion, Experimental Frenzy, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames.
Otherwise, the A-List is receiving Hero of Oxid Ridge, which has been seriously overperforming lately.
Lastly, as always, the fate of the cut cards is below!

Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Fleshbag Marauder, Brutal Hordechief, Gurmag Angler, Snuff Out, Malicious Affliction, Ruinous Path, Dance of the Dead, Goblin Bushwhacker, Subira, Tulzidi Caravanner, Beetleback Chief, Shaman of the Great Hunt, Risk Factor, Reckless Charge, Incendiary Flow, Blasphemous Act, Release the Gremlins, and Mizzium Tank will be added to the sideboard, while the remaining cards are to be fully cut.
First off, the White and Blue
cards...
As far as ZNR goes, we have only Master of Winds. Although, there are a lot of cards from fairly recent sets that I have not given a try yet - Generous Gift, Mass Manipulation, and Gadwick, the Wizened being a few.
Otherwise, the A-List suffered two cuts. I'm sure that Angel of Sanctions and Teferi, Master of Time should be very strong here.
Lastly, as always, the fate of the cut cards is below!
Cheers,
Laardvaark
Wingmate Roc, Gather the Townsfolk, Seal of Cleansing, Temporal Isolation, Windbrisk Heights, Keiga, the Tide Star, Tezzeret, Artifice Master, Negate, and Witching Well will be added to the sideboard, while the remaining cards are to be fully cut.
So, this is going to be much more than a simple update. I haven't been all that thrilled with the way that the B-Sides plays. I believe that the solution is going to be to take some inspiration from the Modern Cube List on MTGO. So what does that look like?
1) Mono-Colored PayoffsFirst and foremost, I think that I want to reward players for going really deep in a single color. Payoffs such as Tempest Djinn, Phyrexian Obliterator, Fanatic of Mogis, Nylea, God of the Hunt, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx will be added as powerful incentive for committing.
2) Grindy GameplayThe part of this list that I think is most entertaining is how long and grindy games often get. Yes, aggro and tempo archetypes are supported, but generally it tilts much more into the "midrange" area than a traditional cube list. So, I'm going to provide cards that can swing the game dramatically during congested board-states, like Sublime Archangel, Mass Manipulation, and Lithoform Engine.
3) Build-Around PotentialYes, it is true that the B-Sides lacks a lot of powerful tutors, but I still feel like it's short on effects that single-handedly can shape a deck - a style of cubing that I like to offer. So, I've added a few cards that promote combos which fall short of my A-List or really demand to be built around, including: Saheeli Rai + Felidar Guardian; Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Triskelion; and Winota, Joiner of Forces.
So, hopefully that helps explain my major goals for this large update. Otherwise, there are plenty of new cards from ZNR that will get added; I am cutting some cards that feel too narrow in favor of more generally powerful options; and always aim to support archetypes that feel like they need it. The changes will follow in subsequent posts.
Cheers,
Laardvaark
As of 10/31/2020, I've successfully transferred and annotated the Template for Laardy's B-Sides into CubeCobra.
