Powerstones don't work with the set mechanics (can't pay for kicker, doesn't help domain, etc) and activated abilities are rare since kicker provides mana sinks.
Timeless Lotus looked interesting but ended up being too slow and it was too difficult to take full advantage of the mana it provides.
Weatherlight Compleated looks interesting but is a trap (its winrate is significantly below average in every archetype but BW, where is just average).
The World Spell was just bad.
The cards replaced here were among the dozen or so worst performing commons according to 17Lands and often were sideboard cards or did not contribute to archetype gameplans.
As usual, all cards removed/replaced here were some of the worst performing cards. Also, I tend to focus on cards which lack the synergy to sometimes be playable, even if most of the time aren't good enough.

-12 (2 x 6) pain lands.
+10 (1 x 10) shock lands.
Rare duals are disappointing to open in limited, pain lands triply so in DMU. They aren't bombs, they hurt you, AND they don't have basic lands types for domain. Thran portal suffers similar issues, so I figure replacing those 14 lands with the 10 shocks (which have basic land types and don't have to damage you) would be a positive change.
