I wanted to have Tidebinder in. Spelljacker turned out to be quite expensive. So he is dempoted to the Legacy extension.
Captain is going to the Vintage extension to have less cards like intiative / monarch in the base cube. Flametongue comes back - another aggressive creature like Hellrider does make less sense imho.
Avenger has to make room for Safekeeper as it comboes with both mentioned (Titania/Nadu) cards. Avenger is demoted to the Legacy extension. With a guy giving cards hexproof Edict is back in and Infernal Grasp gets demoted to the Legacy extension.
Hellrider is not good enough anymore. It is not easy to find creatures that doesn't bring R over the top but are still viable. So trying out the Captain next. Same goes for Recruiter. Trying out another removal spell in its place.
Occult Epiphany is a really nice card. It is similar to Typhoons Cycling ability so I will try it in its place.
The change should update the white sction with some overall better cards.
Reprieve -> Mana Tithe is obvious. Mana Tithe still finds a home in the Legacy extension.
Containment Priest is a better hate card that meanwhile makes a lot of sense in the ever powercreeping cube meta. Lion Sash still lives in the Vintage cube extension.
Monastery Mentor doesn't really do much these days and almost never is picked. So he is out completely. Same accounts for Faith's Fetters. This card however still lives on in the Legacy cube extension.
I analysed the cube with the help of Cube Cobras tools and removed a few weak elo / less picked cards.
Boros is the strongest archetype right now in the cube. In order to weaken it slightly I intend to remove a few high Elo red cards:
move these to the Vintage extension and replace them here through other less high Elo cards
Also Expressive Iteration hasn't impressed me much and as I would like to have Fire//Ice back that's the cut. IE demoted to Vintage extension.
3 drop creatures in this color were rather many. Removed 1 creatures each and substituted by a spell.
Leave it as before as the article talks about fixing lands and Karakas et all are no fixing lands. So altoghter there are now 60 fixing lands.
Most modern cubes have a higher land count. Mine got reduced again through latest updates. So now I can cut the multicolor section again a little and put in 60 lands minimal, what is the recommended minimum für a 360 card cube. Famous 540 card cubes today like LSVs, MTGO or Alphafrogs cube feature 90-95 lands.
After last drafting experiences the manlands feel to slow in the current environment. Silent Clearing also was just a filler in that color. Also breaking up the balance of colors as some color combinations appear less often than others. Respecting that in the number of lands available per pair.
Trying out FoMo. Although Adversary has haste which is good in a cube that features The Initiative the stats and effects on FoMo are too solid to ignore. The extra cost of Adversary basically never came up in recent games which is also part of the decision. Both creatures are of the supertype Undead which this Cube features so there is no loss there.
