Putting together 22 more cards to get to 450 for the full cube and begin testing. Took out some of the most expensive cards like (Ig)Noble Hierarch, Sylvan Library, and Survival of the Fittest. I think the cube is still mostly good without them, but more testing required.
Updates for red. Once again feels far less like "my own" cube and far more like the best cards all time but removing some of the most insane and unfun cards. Still very very expensive to acquire all of these cards, but probably in the 20k or so.
Went a little heavy on reanimate and mini-reanimate theme here. Not 100% sure how strong this deck will be, but I want to test it out. Unmarked Grave and Victimize are certainly on the more narrow side of things, but I'm choosing not to include Demonic or Vampiric Tutor, or Imperial Seal due to cost reasons.
9 cards were clearly too expensive for the very little they provided, so I'm removing them. Adding back in White and Artifact replacements since I'm already at 100% cards there. Just leaving the other colors below 40 and will bring up to 60 when I add in the remaining cards later.
Adding 20 more generic blue cards to fill out the rest of the section. Already have 30 creatures out of 60 and blue definitely doesn't want more than that, so all spells here.
Slightly 'ran out' of cards I cared about adding at the very end so I picked Force Spike and Spell Pierce. Puts blue pretty heavy into 1 mana spells, which is probably good/fine for spells matter and for tempo.
Will go back later for more updates since I don't love how it turned out, but it's a great starting point to adjust from.
Rounding out the rest of white to get up to 60 cards. Adding in most of the non-creature spells + some creatures to get a reasonable curve. Swapping Adanto Vanguard for Seasoned Hallowblade for Humans theme.
Slightly worried that I have too many spells and not enough creatures. It's nearly a 50/50 split and white needs a lot of creatures. Definitely need to go back for tweaks, but this gets me to a mostly reasonable starting 60.
10 lands per guild, then 10 more colorless / 5 color. This cube doesn't have any fast mana or reserve list cards, so those will be missing from land and artifact sections.
Including Sword of Dungeons & Dragons because I don't really know what other equipment to add and I don't want 'actual' swords due to protection.
A few of these might be too low power level, but that's really just gonna have to be something to test out later.
Both black and green are focused on filling the graveyard, but green is a bit more focused on utilizing that for land recursion while black uses it for reanimation. Quite a few enablers though, and I think that's definitely the main point.
Kind of ran out of red enablers/payoffs that aren't just easy to cast spells that I would already consider as 'generic good cards'. Once the full cube is put together though, the cards 'assigned' to any given archetype don't really matter. It's more for the first design than it is anything after that.
Definitely need to keep an eye on the power level of this archetype and make sure I'm not creating traps. Some of the cards feel slightly underpowered. I kind of went with a wolf subtheme to go along with flash because they flip easily due to it, but not 100% sure that's the right call. It's certainly fun though and I'd like to test it. If it truly doesn't work out I'll shift to something else and that's fine :)
RW Tokens cards + Heirloom blade since it works in any white based humans deck. Potentially works with red goblins? Not forcing goblins by any means though.
I don't love Ajani Vengeant within the RW Tokens deck, but it's just too good of a generic card so I'm including it. Also helps if someone wants to build a RW/Jeskai/Mardu control shell.
I put in seige-gang commander because it fits into both aristocrats and tokens super well, but I'm not 100% sold on wanting to include it in my final cube list. TBD on that I guess.
I prefer the idea of GW Humans actually having some significance and this is the type of card to push it. Metallic Mimic is in for the combo, RW has Winota, and both Champion of the Parish and Thalia's Lieutenant care about humans. Easy 2nd "archetype" to include in GW as a fallback for when the combo doesn't work out, or to have some themes/synergy in the deck that isn't just the combo.
Note: removing all talismans from multicolored sections. May consider adding them back in as artifacts later.
Also adding 1 more multicolor card for each of the 5 prior guilds.
BW Stax/recursion is the main goal for this archetype and is the slower, grindier version of aristocrats.
Again, quite a few more cards could fit into this archetype that I've left out, specifically in black. Hand disruption, the black 1-drops could be here instead of BR, removal/reanimation, etc.
