540 Paper Cards plus a 16 Card Booster - Vintage Restrictions - No Budget Restrictions (except P9)

Welcome to Big Vintage Cube

This is a 540 card Vintage cube consisting of the Base Cube (360 cards) and the Vintage Cube Extension (180 cards). Both parts are managed in CubeCobra as separate cubes. This cube is meant for test drafting only. The Base Cube is playable on its own while the extension is not.

Note: The cube features one extra booster called the sapphire booster with 16 additional cards. They are added to the draft in case somebody picks the card Lore Seeker. Cards from this booster are highlighted in blue.

If you're interested in my cubes and how this Big Vintage cube is constructed refer to the Base Cube Overview where I explain the philosophy behind it.

As I do not own any power, P9 and a few other expensive cards are proxied and therefore highlighted in pink.

Differences to MTGO Vintage Cube

I always try to adapt my Vintage Cube from what I see and experience in the latest MTGO Vintage Cube. About 20-25% cards differ from a regular Vintage Cube incarnation for several reasons I will explain next. The core of the known Vintage Cube is completely intact with over 400 cards being identical.

Structural differences:

  • The multicolored section is smaller (usually 10-15 cards). This has been traditionally an area for experiments in the MTGO Vintage Cube which I usually do not copy
  • There is a little less landbased fixing (currently there are just 5 of the 10 triomes)
  • vice versa, there are few more monocolored cards and artifacts
  • the spread of colors is the same as in the MTGO Vintage Cube with the exception of B which has almost as much cards as U (reasons see below)

Archetype differences:

  • The Base Cubes features an BR aristocrats archetype which is also present and supported in my Vintage Cube. This explains the higher count of B cards
  • My Vintage Cube does not feature a land themed deck. However this archetype can be found in my other Base Cube extension (the Legacy Cube extension).
