I discovered Magic in 96. I opened a Cadaverous Bloom in cracking my first pack ever. My mother flipped out after seeing the card image and forbade me from participating. So, like any good little boy, I just played it at my friend's house. My friends and I eventually joined a newspaper route, and I started earning some cash to pay for this secretly. I don't think I ever told my mother what I spent my money on. *Shrug, I'm sure she thought I spent it on candy or toys. What momma doesn't know right.

Anyway, I played all through high school and didn't stop until the nightly standard format was being changed. Blah, I was not interested in pushing aside all my favorite cards and forking over gobs of money just to play. I do wish I was aware of drafting back then. After that I turned my attention to MMO's and FPS Pc games.

It wasn't until Hearthstone was released that a little tiny ember caught fire again. I walked into a local game store and discovered that Magic was still alive and bloomed into all kinds of crazy formats. I signed up for my first draft with the newly released "Shadows over Innistrad".

During which I was told about Commander, "You mean I can play with all my old cards"?! Oh, yeah... I was hooked! Ever since I have been drafting & building and haven't looked back.

Around the time Kaladesh was releasing, I was introduced to the idea of a Cube. The idea of making your own draft set just blew my mind. It has been a long and arduous road. There wasn't much info to help one make a cube. I wasn't aware of podcasts then, and I don't remember many websites with info or guides to help you get started in the prosses.

I did eventually find Adam Styborski's cube and found it beyond helpful as a starting guide. Sadly, I was already a year deep, so I choose to scrap everything and start fresh after having a better idea of ratios.

Since then, It's evolved and evolved and became my little baby in the end. My goal is to make a legacy light cube that many can enjoy and find a voice in their favorite way of playing. Those that I have shared it with have really enjoy it and every set makes it more complex in flavor and style.

I'm excited to see what changes happen and plan to keep this active for... well, as long as I'm alive, and WotC keeps making Magic.
