I started playing magic in Ixalan (extraordinarily casually), my first pre-release was rivals of ixalan. I opened a rekindling phoenix in my first pack, went hm that seems good and through it in a Naya dino deck with a bird, because ixalan. In game one of the event was promptly made aware that card was preselling for $40, sold it immediately, bought me and my friend two premade decks the store had, and the rest is history.
