Some cards like [[Firebolt]] and [[Caustic Bronco]] can enable the payoffs like [[Hired Claw]] or [[Spawn of Mayhem]] for cheap. This deck can really churn through the game while going fast or slow. ----------------------------------- >>> **{R/G}Red/Green Lands (Damage){R/G}** <<< >>> <<[[!Nesting Dragon]] [[!Tireless Tracker]] [[!Radha, Heart of Keld]]>> <<< This is a lands deck that wants to use the lands we play to convert into damage directly. Whether that be from ramping with a [[Topiary Stomper]] and [[Beanstalk Giant]] into a [[Trumpeting Carnosaur]] or making a bunch of tokens with [[Rampaging Baloths]], the lands we play are going to hurt our opponent somehow. ----------------------------------- >>> **{G/W}Green/White Big Tokens{W/G}** <<< >>> <<[[!Esika's Chariot]] [[!Scion of Vitu-Ghazi]] [[!Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage]]>> <<< Green and white are great at making a bunch of tokens, but the tokens in these colors tend to be pretty big. Just look at [[Call of the Herd]] or [[Vernal Sovereign]]. But we could make them even bigger with a [[Caretaker's Talent]]. All this to say, these tokens are going to hit hard. ----------------------------------- >>> **{W/B}White/Black Small Tokens{W/B}** <<< >>> <<[[!Usher of the Fallen]] [[!Ophiomancer]] [[!Corpse Knight]]>> <<< These tokens will not hit as hard on their own, but the synergies will let you take so many game actions per turn. We want to make several smaller tokens from cards like [[Moan of the Unhallowed]] or [[Clowning Around]] to trigger our [[Welcoming Vampire]] and [[Mirkwood Bats]]. We can either sacrifice them for value with [[Woe Strider]] or [[Hidden Stockpile]], or just pump them to the moon and attack with a [[Warren Warleader]] among others. ----------------------------------- >>> **{R/U}Blue/Red Stuff{R/U}** <<< >>> <<[[!Smirking Spelljacker]] [[!Flametongue Kavu]] [[!River Song]]>> <<< This is the "stuff" archetype of the cube but it's also so much more! I think having some cards just be "stuff" provides some great cohesion and safety in the cube. Izzet lets me accomplish this by letting me include awesome gold cards ([[Expressive Iteration]], [[Magma Opus]]) and just stellar cube allstars like [[Mulldrifter]] and [[Stoke the Flames]]. These colors can play any way you want them to. ----------------------------------- >>> **{G/B}Black/Green Lands (Graveyard) {G/B}** <<< >>> <<[[!Stalactite Stalker]] [[!Ramunap Excavator]] [[!The Gitrog Monster]]>> <<< This lands deck wants to dump and recur the lands you sacrifice, gaining value from [[Titania, Protector of Argoth]] and [[Centaur Vinecrasher]]. Getting the lands in the graveyard is the easy part ([[Verdant Catacombs]], [[Malevolent Rumble]]) and getting them out is the fun part, using a [[Vengeful Regrowth]], [[World Shaper]], etc. ----------------------------------- >>> **{R/W}Red/White Battalion{W/R}** <<< >>> <<[[!Krenko's Command]] [[!Legion's Landing]] [[!Heroic Reinforcements]]>> <<< Go literally as fast as possible and attack as fast as you can. There's cards that want us to attack with multiple creatures, like [[Boros Elite]] or [[Legion's Landing]] and the best way to make that many attackers is with tokens from a [[Dragon Fodder]] or [[Hordeling Outburst]]! Once you get a bunch of attackers, pump with an [[Angel of Invention]], [[Pyretic Charge]], or just kill with [[Hellrider]]. ----------------------------------- >>> **{G/U}Green/Blue Ramp?{G/U}** <<< >>> <<[[!Faerie Formation]] [[!Topiary Stomper]] [[!Bounty of the Luxa]]>> <<< I know it's kinda played out but it's honestly just so much fun to get way too much mana way too quickly and just cast the fattest spells. You can ramp with a billion things, including [[Llanowar Loamspeaker]], [[Jewel Thief]] and [[Vastwood Surge]] and then slam the best idiots in town like a [[Frost Titan]] and then draw a billion more cards with [[Pore Over the Pages]] and [[Rishkar's Expertise]] to keep slamming more huge creatures on the board. ----------------------------------- >>> Secret Minor Archetypes <<< shhh dont tell anyone! - Blue/X Control - Black/X Discard - Gruul Tokens - 10 Signet Ramp - Red/X Burn - Black/X Sacrifice
