During Tempest block I started playing Magic. My mom gave me a Portal starter kit with two deck.

This is where I fell in love with my still favorite card of all time: Humility.

During the first years I played primarily casual decks with classmates and at the local gaming store "Magic Friends". Some other players took me to type 2 contests and gave me the decks to play. This evolved to extended because of rotation and up until 2020 I was playing legacy.

The amount of time I got combined with the lack of tournaments led to me selling most of my collection. I kept two cubes and did not stop playing.

Limited is now the only format I play and from time to time I like to make a new cube to add to the collection. I see this as self-contained games I can take of the shelf to play other people who do not own cards or decks for specific formats.
