This is meant to be a fun to draft, EDH cube with multiple themes that compliment each other when drafting.
Instructions for DraftingEach player will receive:
Draft format would be 4 packs - 15 cards per pack.
Pick 2-cards from a pack and then pass to the player on the left.
Build a 100 card deck with provided basic lands.
Each player would draft 80 cards and build a 60-70 card deck and then add basics to complete the deck.
Keep these in mind while drafting
White
Themes: Voltron/Tokens/+1
Mono-white's strength will be a voltron strategy. There's enough equipment and enchantments in the cube that mono-white should be viable.
Key Cards:
Blue
Themes: Fliers/Pirates/Spells
Mono-blue would succeed with small damage early drops, counters and big spells to finish.
Key Cards:
Black
Themes: Graveyard/Elves/Tokens
Mono-black has multiple ways to send creatures to the graveyard and get them back again, while doing damage or forcing the opponent to sac their creatures.
Key Cards:
Red
Themes: Aggro Equipment/Pirates/Spells
Mono-red will succeed by being aggressive with spells and equipment and staying late game with larger creatures.
Key Cards:
Green
Themes: +1 Creatures/Elves/Tokens
Mono-green has lots of creatures with +1 counters and ways to take advantage of those counters
Key Cards:
Azorius(Blink)
Key Cards:
Step 1: sort your cube and separate it into sections by color. Make six piles: one for each mono-color and a sixth for everything else.
White (70 cards)
Blue (70 cards)
Black (70 cards)
Red (70 cards)
Green (70 cards)
Multicolor/Hybrid/Colorless/Land (190 cards)
(The last pile is the "Everything Else pile".)
Shuffle each mono-colored pile using whatever method you're comfortable with. No need to shuffle the Everything Else pile yet.
Step 2: From each mono-colored pile, move cards to the Everything Else pile until it contains 50% of your total count. Each mono-colored pile will contain 10% of your total count.
White (54 cards)
Blue (54 cards)
Black (54 cards)
Red (54 cards)
Green (54 cards)
Everything Else (270 cards)
The Everything Else pile now has some cards from every section of the cube. Shuffle the Everything Else pile using whatever method you're comfortable with.
Step 3: From the Everything Else pile, distribute cards into each mono-colored pile. Once you're done, each mono-colored pile should contain 20% of your total count.
White+ (108)
Blue+ (108)
Black+ (108)
Red+ (108)
Green+ (108)
I've added the + sign to indicate that each pile is now comprised of half its original color and half unknown.
Shuffle each pile using whatever method you're comfortable with.
If we pulled a random card from the White+ section, this is what it could be:
White (53.3%)
Blue (3.3%)
Black (3.3%)
Red (3.3%)
Green (3.3%)
Multicolored/Hybrid (13.9%)
Colorless/Land (19.4%)
It's most likely to be a White card, but it's possible for it to be any single card in the Cube.
Step 4: Create your packs using 3 cards from each pile. The quickest way to do this is to pile shuffle into n/15 piles (where n is your total card count).
Each pack now contains:
3 White+
3 Blue+
3 Black+
3 Red+
3 Green+
I like to give each pack a quick shuffle, to remove the possibility of a pattern.
And that's it! Your packs are ready to draft.
