This is my first Cube builded by myself and I'm still in the learning and testing process to balance things out so some big changes can happen rather quick.
At first I thought every color pair needed a static archetype to represent, but I've come to the conclusion that I rather want color identities which you can build around and some goldcards to give you some inspirations. Personally, I like value generating creatures, multicolored decks and long, grindy games. I tried to put only cards in the cube who are viable in multiple decks to generate a good draft flow with many decision. Here, an exception are red and white one and two drops to cultivate good aggro decks. To give also aggro decks a shot against all the value creatures and two for ones, I excluded low cost sweepers like Pyroclasm.
Here are my ideas of color identities and their strenght.
- weenie, tokens and ETB's
- control, card draw, ETB's and finisher
- removal, graveyard enabler and sacrifice
- removal, aggresiv and sacrifice
- ramp, graveyard value and finisher
I'm always open for suggestions and new ideas to include, so hit me up.
I often tinker together with @garfield95, he has a more powerfull cube called PogChamp.
