A fun color-balanced powered vintage cube with an optional commander format, culled from the MTGO vintage cube, LSV's vintage cube, AlphaFrog’s vintage cube, wtwlf123's vintage cube, and my own playgroup's suggestions, that encourages power, fun, card draw, and interaction. The cube is often played in a team or multiplayer setting with 3-4 people so commander staples are included (eg. Arcane Signet, Command Tower, Cyclonic Rift, Deflecting Swat, Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe).

Includes: Raw Power (Power 9, Gleemox, Mox Poison, Jack-in-the-Mox, Mox Crystal (from 5c Magic), Contract from Below) fun un-cards (eg. Booster Tutor, Clocknapper), Digital only cards (eg. Oracle of the Alpha, Crucias, Titan of the Waves), Promo cards (eg. Robot Chicken, Stocking Tiger), Playtest cards, Unknown Event cards (eg. White Rhystic Study), cards that promote card drawing, fun combos, and powerful gold cards.

Excludes: Conspiracy cards, stax, cards that muck up decks (Memory Lapse, Oust, Plow Under, Unexpectedly Absent), cards that grind the game to a halt (Platinum Angel, Winter Orb, Stasis), and mass land destruction. The goal is powered fun!

Color Themes:
White: Aggro, Midrange, Control, Token Swarm
Blue: Artifacts, Control, Tempo, Card Draw
Black: Disruption, Reanimator, Tempo
Red: Aggro / Burn, Dragons, Midrange
Green: Ramp, Lands Matter, Midrange, Big Creatures
Colorless: Robots

Azorius: Control, Blink
Dimir: Disruption and Card Draw
Rakdos: Sacrifice, Aggro
Gruul: Domain, Big Creatures
Selesnya: Tokens, Midrange
Orzhov: Midrange and Recursion
Izzet: Spellslinger and Tempo
Golgari: Graveyard Matters, Midrange
Boros: Aggro, Equipment
Simic: Card Draw, Midrange

Banned "unfun" cards: These cards are banned because they are either too powerful on their own, or just make the game unfun for the opponent. They often lead to lopsided victories, especially if unanswered.

🧙‍♂️ Partner Commander Format (optional custom format for this cube)

-Players draft from the cube using either Grid Draft (recommended for 2–3 players) or Traditional Booster Draft.
-After drafting, each player builds a 50-card singleton deck using up to two legendary creatures or planeswalkers from their draft pool as their commanders.
-Planeswalker Commanders Rule: In this cube, any planeswalker may serve as your commander. Your deck’s color identity must still match that planeswalker’s mana cost and text box.
-Any mono-colored legendary creature or planeswalker may be partnered with another mono-colored or 2-color legendary creature or planeswalker, regardless of color or printed mechanics.
-Your deck’s color identity is based on the combined colors of both commanders.
-Commanders start in the command zone.

🧩 Draft Options

Grid Draft Guidelines (2–3 players)
-Each round, lay out a 3x3 grid of 9 cards.
-Players take one row or column (3 cards) per turn.
-Draft continues for 20–21 rounds (~60–63 cards per player).
-In 3-player pods, add 3 extra cards before the second player drafts in the first round.

Traditional Booster Draft Guidelines (3–6 players)
-Each player opens 4 packs of 15 cards and drafts in a rotating pick order.
-Total cards per player: 60
-Supports 60-card singleton Commander decks and provides deep pools for synergy and flexibility.

Double-Pick Booster Draft (7–8 players)
-Each player opens 3 packs of 15 cards
-First 5–6 picks of each pack: take two cards per pick
-Remaining picks: take one card per pick
-Total cards per player: 45
-Ideal for faster large-group drafts or standard 40-card decks.

🎁 Sealed Guidelines for 3–4 Players
🎲 Standard Sealed Pool (Commander Format)
Each player receives a sealed pool of 60 cards, drawn from randomized cube packs.
-Use 4 sealed packs of 15 cards per player = 60 cards total
-This matches your Commander deckbuilding needs exactly
-Decks are 60-card singleton, same as your Commander Partner variant
-Commanders are chosen from within your sealed pool
-Same partner rule: Any mono-colored legendary can partner with any other legendary

💥 Power Overwhelming Rules (optional custom format for this cube)

-Each Player draws 7 cards as their starting hand.
-Players play from a communal deck (part of the cube or the whole cube)
-During your turn, you may cast one card of each type from your hand without paying its mana cost. This can be done once per type per turn.
-Instants are always free to cast.
-You may play any number of lands per turn.
-You may use mana produced by any permanent or ability you control to pay costs for other spells or abilities.
-During each player's draw step, that player draws cards until they have 7 cards in their hand.
