This started as a set cube aiming at the recreation of a retail draft and limited enviroment. In the meantime it became a LTR/LTC set cube because I could not resist to add some cards from the supplementary commander decks and some of the Realms and Relics cards. With the exception of one card (as a two of) all cards are from this set.
For now the rarity ratio is 4/2/1/1.
The packs are seeded with 10 commons, 3 uncommons and 2 rares/mythics.
There will also be a land draft between pack 1 and 2. I took inspiration from Jason Waddell's Utility Land Draft. https://riptidelab.com/cube-academy/utility-land-draft/
Beeing unhappy with the color imbalance within the LTR set led to some changes.
This fella had to go as he is a dead card in this format.
Despite the fact that there are a lot of legendary creatures and the tempting mechanic in the format this card shows bad stats on 17Lands.com. 4 mana for a very situational ramp spell is not good enough.
Graveyard shenanigans are underrepresented and so this card is as dead as the Sleepless Dead whished to be.
BR is the strongest color combination but robbing it of two rare picks feels unfair. Moria Scavanger seems to be a versatile creature which offers interesting decissions during draft and game play. If his deathtouch ability turns out to be to dominant he might have to crawl back into the shadows of Dwarrowdelf.
A costly bomb that rewards the player that drafted some wraiths. There are currently only two Nazgul in this cube. I plan on adding more in the future. But the Lord the of Nazgul seems to be quit good on its own. My hope is to steer a player away from BR to UB.
To strengthen green the following cards were added:
To further bolster the counter matter theme the Ozolith was added.
I am also considering a few additions for white and blue. Updates will follow.
With the amount of lands added this card seems like a nice threat forcing everyone to actively pick removal. In case it becomes to powerful I will have to cut it.
Shadowspear will be added as soon as I managed to buy one.
The following cards are kept in the cube despite their questionable performance in a pure retail draft environment.
This card has horriable stats on 17Lands.com. Adding more equipments to the cube might open a lane for this spell.
This spell is the perfect example of a card designed primarily for commander. Almost everything speaks against this card but I am heavily tempted to try and make it work.
To allow for a better color fixing the check and pain lands from the commander precons were added aswell as a playset of Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse and two Ash Barrens.
Green/red didn't receive the love it needed, so I had to swollow the bitter pill and went for two Rootbound Crag from M13 as their artwork isn't to far of from the set.
Further additions are:
