Welcome to the Lavender Desert!
This is a three color (White/Red/Blue) desert cube
I want this cube to have a a moderately low mana curve with quite a bit of variance in power level. Interaction is particularly powerful and low-costed.
There are no free interactive spells (with the exception of Lava Dart in the graveyard.)
There are almost no infinite combos, though someone could go infinite with Ghostly Flicker, Archaeomancer, Cloud of Faeries, a bounceland and Impact Tremors.
The only cards that break singleton are basic lands (12 of each) and Ash Barrens (6 copies)
The only DFCs are modal lands on one or both sides.
No old-bordered cards. I like many different card treatments, but I don't have the nostalgia for the old border and I don't love it. I know Miscalculation is a great fit for this cube, but until there is a reprint, preferably without the original art (which I also dislike), it will not be included.
4 packs of 13 cards are drafted. (90% of the cube with 8 drafters) [I'm still toying with the numbers.]
There is no basic land station. All lands must be drafted.
I made all of the tokens for this cube and didn't distinguish between Phyrexian and non-Phyrexian for goblins and golems. Phyrexian is not a relevant subtype.
(A desert cube is one in which you must draft all of your lands, including basics.)
I was born and raised in the Chihauhuan Desert.
I love lands in MtG. In an attempt to correct a "weakness" newer CCGs like Lorcana and SW:Unlimited have moved away from lands. I want to highlight them instead.
I want decks in this environment to be defined by their synergies rather than their colors.
Lavender is my favorite color.
Red, Blue and White are my favorite three colors in Magic.
Jeskai includes some of my favorite archetypes, including cycling, non-creature spells matter, affinity for artifacts and others.
