THE RUNDOWN

• Drafted normally, played normally. No Squadron Hawks, no Cogwork Librarians, no emblems.
• No instant-win combos. Some cards (like Deceiver Exarch and Shuko) are there to call back to classic decks, but you won't find their buddiees.
• No free spells. (A few morph cards can be flipped for free.)
• Decks generally end up in two colors, plus or minus a splash.

GOALS

• Present a lower-power experience focused on meat-and-potatoes Limited Magic. Navigate combat, get two-for-ones, hit your opponent until they die.
• Choose cards that lean towards what makes Magic great: combat and hand deduction.
• Include the greatest hits - former tournament all-stars, pivotal story moments, Shivan Dragon.
• Sprinkle in explicit synergies to mimic nostalgic decks (e.g. enchantment-matters in black-green as a throwback to BG Constellation), but don't require players to go all-in on them.
