This is my take on the battlebox format.

This version of battlebox is played with ten lands in the command zone for each player, five basics and five allied gates. Players start with five cards, and share a library and a graveyard. Other than that the rules are the same.

My battlebox mostly started out as cards with art and names I liked that I had no other place to play. Over time it evolved into what it is now. Tokens and counters are excluded, to increase portability and ease logistics.

Main themes included knights, walls, looters, madness, and flashback. The shared graveyard makes simple cards like think twice a potentially punishing experience. Cards that use life as a resource are also present, to help move games along and reward greedy plays.

I play my battlebox unsleeved, and I recommend you do the same. The foils look much nicer sleeveless!
