Cubeasaurus

Inspired by the “Universes Beyond: Jurassic World” release, I wanted to put together a cube with a dinosaur theme.

Rule 0:
  • Duplicate dinosaurs are allowed, whether with alternate names or alternate art.
  • Command Tower, from the UB:JW release, counts as a colorless mana producer. Ignore the commander text.
  • Dual lands, pain lands, and shock lands are not designed to all be played together - choose two. The options are there to provide some speed manipulation.

The following is from a prompt given to Chat GPT.

Designing a Magic: The Gathering cube involves creating a set of cards for drafting. Here's a brief outline for a 400-card Dinosaur-themed cube:

  1. Color Distribution:

    • White: Dinosaur-themed creatures with abilities emphasizing unity or protection.
    • Blue: Dinosaur-related control and evasion cards.
    • Black: Dinosaur graveyard interaction and death triggers.
    • Red: Aggressive and hasty Dinosaur creatures.
    • Green: Ramp and powerful Dinosaur creatures.
  2. Card Types:

    • Creatures: Majority should be Dinosaurs, varying in mana cost and abilities.
    • Instants/Sorceries: Combat tricks, removal, and Dinosaur-themed spells.
    • Enchantments/Artifacts: Dinosaur-related buffs, equipment, and tribal support.
  3. Curve and Mana Base:

    • Ensure a balanced mana curve to support different strategies.
    • Include dual lands and mana-fixing artifacts to encourage multicolor play.
  4. Themes:

    • Tribal synergy cards that reward players for having multiple Dinosaurs.
    • Ramp spells to accelerate into bigger Dinosaurs.
    • Graveyard interactions for Black cards.
  5. Archetypes:

    • Aggro: Red and White aggressive Dinosaurs.
    • Control: Blue and Black controlling Dinosaurs.
    • Midrange: Green and Red midrange Dinosaurs.
    • Ramp: Green ramp cards to cast large Dinosaurs.
  6. Keywords:

    • Include keywords like Trample, Vigilance, Haste, and Enrage for variety.
  7. Balancing:

    • Playtest to ensure a balanced environment, adjusting card numbers and effects as needed.
  8. Iconic Dinosaurs:

    • Feature well-known Dinosaurs from Magic's history.
  9. Synergy Cards:

    • Cards that reward players for having Dinosaurs of the same type or color.
  10. Draft Experience:

    • Aim for a diverse draft experience with viable strategies for different colors.

Making this cube even more special (to me!), I've tried to only use foil tokens. Here is what I have so far:
