Do you like Cube?
Do you like Commander?
Welcome then to Micro-Mander, the Ally Colored One. If this is your first time seeing a Micro-Mander cube you can check out the original one here: https://cubecobra.com/cube/overview/micromander
The goal of Micro-Mander is to design an experience that captures the feel of commander and weds it more cube like speed and gameplay. First up some rules:
Legends:
The cube has a total of 47 legends.
7 White
5 Blue
8 Black
7 Red
4 Green
13 Two Color Gold
1 5 Color
20 of the legends have partner creating a phenomenal depth of deck options across all color pairs. Being ally colored means you can draft U/W, U/B, B/R, R/G, and G/W as supported to color pairs, and Shards as the easily enabled 3 color decks. Not to mention the two colored partners opening up spicy 4 color decks. There's a small suite of Legends with Choose a Background and 2 Backgrounds so you can even audible into those of you see them.
Themes-
Artifacts Matter
Spells
Cast from Exile
Aggro
Scry Matters
Theft
Tokens
Treasure
Vehicles
And so much more!
My main goal with the themes/archetypes was to have a gradiant from decks that are more on rails to decks that are wackier and more free wheeling. I want there to be a decent level of exploration and fun to be had. There's a real wide range of synergy pieces you can use to cross pollinate into different and unique decks.
Artifacts/Colorless-
The artifact suite here is pretty expansive. Starting with mana rocks there's Sol Ring, Jeweled Lotus, Arcane Signet and a smattering of other traditional rocks and artifacts that generate mana in other ways (IE treasure).
There's a vehicle suite for decks that care about that.
There's a few Affinity creatures and other colorless utility pieces.
The rest of the artifacts consist of low mana value utility pieces like Retrofitter Foundry, Wellsprings, and the like.
There's 3 colorless spells for the spells deck, but they're also fine mid tier curve filler.Lands -
From the land we draw mana. From mana we shape the worlds.
Lol
Seriously though, the lands are a mix of commander based utility and fixing. We're Fetch/Shock/Bond for dual land. Two Gold Lands. Prismatic Vista as a 6th fetch. I also have the Thriving Lands as a cycle that helps multicolor decks without needing to be in that specific color pair. The land base here is a couple lands smaller than the enemy color Micro-Mander to allow for more artifacts.
Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the experience and find the cube interesting.
