The Vanguard Cube has been designed with archetypes that play off the different strengths of the Vanguard cards from Magic’s history. These archetypes have been built using some of the most powerful and fun cards I can think of from Magic’s history.

Special Rules:

1. If a card mentions another card(s) by name, then you are allowed to pull those other named cards from a separate pile and draft these cards as a bundle. When you do, draft all cards drafted this way face up.

2. When you draft Witch’s Oven, you also draft Cauldron familiar. Follow the process outlined in special rules #1.

3. All creature cards with draft mechanics (cards that as of writing this were printed in conspiracy sets that have abilities that effect and are effected by the drafting stage of cube play) have the ability “Changeling.”

4. At any time, you are allowed to look at and read through any card in the separate pile of cards that are drafted as part of special rule #1.

5. This cube drafts 5 packs instead of 3.

6. The first pack is a special pack consisting of 3 Vanguard cards.

7. You must play 1 and only 1, of your 3 drafted Vanguard cards.

Bant (WUG): Toughness Matters, combo.
Esper (WUB): Spellslinger, control.
Jund (BRG): Jund’em out! (Zoo), aggro.
Naya (WRG): Landfall, ramp.
Grixis (UBR): Sacrifice, Mid-range.
