Welcome to the Valhalla Peasant Cube. This cube is designed to provide a experience catered to players who like to draft decks with lots of synergy and freedom and explore all sorts of possible interactions across all archetypes. Functional reprints are avoided, as are cards that have been deemed too oppressive or powerful. Feedback, suggestions, and any comments you may have to improve this cube are appreciated. Id love to be convinced to add other peoples pet cards.
Descendant of Storms offers some versatility that Usher of the Fallen didnt. The +1+1 counter synergy is a nice upside.
Sunpearl Kirin will play well in a lot of decks and Against All Odds was just a little too expensive for what it did, and had become redundant.
Dalkovan Packbeasts I love how this card will play, creating and sacrificing tokens on its own while being a good blocker. Hop to it is a little boring, and I want to cut back on my token cards.
Starry-Eyed Skyrider Flies, gives tokens evasion, and allows you to push through some key creatures. I love it. Decree of Justice One of my pet cards that I wanted to be better than it is. No one really wanted to play it.
Wingblade Disciple I love a second copy of Clarion Spirit. The art of Cynette, Jelly Drover is something I couldnt get past, I'm and old school player, and am not a huge fan of Anime style art.
Yathan Tombguard Im not sure this creature will work out, but I have thought about trying to add a little more counter synergy to black. Armix, Filigree Thrasher Ive held on for too long trying to make this guy great, he will remain in the maybeboard for now.
Shock Brigade Im a big fan of Mobolize, and this guy should play well with Aggressive decks and Sacrifice decks. Light Up the Stage There was too many of these abilities in red.
Synchronized Charge A slightly better Tavel Preperations, however I like this effect enough to keep both in. Cenote Scout just didnt have a home.
Hardened Tactician My guess is this will be one of the top uncommons of the set. I love having a payoff for random tokens, and drawing cards in White/Black. Shroudstomper just doesnt have the immediate impact that Angel of Despair does, and I didnt want to take up two guild slots with such a large top-end.
