Quiet Speculation is my tribute to modern Magic, an attempt to weave disparate threads of design into a tapestry which balances clever synergies within the core aggro-to-control spectrum. This cube features overlapping themes of affinity, lands, and graveyard recursion, supported by dense fixing to facilitate creative splashes.
Expectations:
This cube has no Planeswalkers, Vehicles, Sagas, DFCs, external tracking mechanics (e.g. Monarch), free interaction from the hand (e.g. pitch spells), fetchlands, or two-card infinites.
The only tokens in the environment are Clues, Thopters, and Zombies.
There are very few gold cards present, but off-color kickers, flashbacks, and other abilities are plentiful.
Acknowledgements:
This cube owes a debt first and foremost to its players, primarily from Philly and Reading, Pennsylvania. Without you all this would be an inert pile of cardboard.
A great deal of design inspiration has been taken from @CulticCube‘s “Cartographia,” @Kapernaumov‘s “Penrose Cube,” and the Lucky Paper boys for their podcast insights. There are countless other players and designers who have left their mark here.
