What's a Mini Quarter Express Bar Commander Cube?! (MQEBCC) MINI:

A smaller cube for 2-4 players. With only 240 cards to shuffle together, it can be a 1v1 duel or serve a 4 person table.

QUARTER:

All maindeck cards aim to be 25 cents or less on TCGPlayer. Commanders have a fuzzy limit of 50c, with a hard cap of 1$. Overall, cards are lower power, and best of all, cheap! (and replaceable!)

EXPRESS:

No shuffling or searching effects. No overly complicated effects. Reduced emphasis on remembering triggers, such as upkeep triggers. Memory and tracking is reduced to a manageable level so you can play even if you're distracted.

BAR:

No outside components required!

COMMANDER:

Draft a commander limited deck of 60 cards! Draft a 2-color commander, a 1-color commander, or partner together two the 10 mono-colored partner commanders! 40 total commanders in the cube to explore. If things go south, The Prismatic Piper is available for free if you need it.

Aaaaaand we're back! The long winter of Foundations is over, bringing us back to cube updates. Today is some long-wanted changes alongside some additions from my DFT pre-release opens. No new commanders, but a few cool adds. Notably, I'm purging a bit of leftover self-mill dedicated things.

WHITE

Nothing. Sad.

BLUE

Spined Thopter is a sad one to see go as I really enjoyed the fact that it was colour-locked in a commander context. That said, we have enough fliers in blue, and Guidelight Optimizer is a pretty exciting new card for the blue artifact decks.

Screaming Swarm kept losing more and more relevance as self-mill became less and less relevant in the cube. It was time for it to go. Replacing it is the affinity big boi, Qumulox

BLACK

Fear of Lost Teeth is coming in as sac fodder that also synergizes with Tor Wauki the Younger. Out is Faerie Dreamthief for now, although I'm sad to see it go.

Virus Beetle is being replaced with Wreckage Wickerfolk. Beetle tended to snowball when the ninjas started going, but otherwise was pretty underwhelming. The Wickerfolk has more synergies outside of ninjas while remaining an artifact.

Prowling Geistcatcher has to go for cost. I wanted to find room for Grim Bauble, so I'm putting it in for now, with the note that I'm planning on adding another creature to black in the next update.

GREEN

Timber Paladin didn't work out because the aura restriction was a bit too hard to get going, compare to aura and equipment. In is Gnarlback Rhino for some green heroic card advantage.

Karametra's Favor wasn't being used for its mana producing ability, so I'm replacing it with a different cantrip aura. I chose Rune of Might because of the equipment subthemes in the cube.

Colorless

Scaretiller has lost its place as a land recursion tool, if it ever worked for that in the first place. Replacing it is the fun ETB Treasure Keeper.

Millikin was not quite up to par. I'm using this slot for more flash stuff, adding Goblin Firebomb

Hero's Blade was a little too strong when it started taking over a game. I'm excited for its replacement, Rover Blades, as an equipment creature with some fun synergies.

Lantern of Revealing never did the thing I wanted with the "look at top card" commanders, plus it was too slow and wasnt seeing play. In is Supply Drop as a colorless combat trick, artifact to sac, flash card, and so many more little things. I love that card.
