V.1.3.3 All the changelings! All the powerful lords!
Version update note: Dragonstorms have been spotted throughout the realm and Dragons have invaded cube!

- Overview -

The goal of this cube is to create decks built around powerful creature typal synergies.

The following suggestions are being presented to spark curiosity in what is possible and provide some examples of supported architypes.

Use powerful "lord" creatures to create overwhelming advantages. Elvish Archdruid powers out huge game warping bombs. Captain of the Watch makes and army of 2/2 vigilant soldiers from an empty board. Scion of Oona makes your faeries tricky for your opponent to deal with.

Maximize your power by using changelings for value. One changeling on the battlefield turns Multiclass Baldric into Equip 2 creature gets lifelink, deathtouch, haste and flying. Cateran Summons can find any changeling card in your deck including changeling instants and put it in your hand for b. Just one changeling on the battlefield reduces the cost of Savage Stomp or turns on modes of many of the interaction spells Flame of Anor for example.

Abuse in the graveyard with All-Stars Haakon, Stromgald Scourge and Zask, Skittering Swarmlord to cast changelings or knight spells like Nameless Inversion until you run out of mana or all your opponents creatures are destroyed.

Overwhelm your opponents using the cost reducing effects of cards Morophon, the Boundless and Stonybrook Banneret to double and triple spell your way to victory.

Live the dream by winning in unconventional ways. Finally get the better end of Liliana's Contract. Stop your opponents from ever playing spells again by gaining control of their lands forever with Gilt-Leaf Archdruid.

Go wide aggro using powerful buffs from artifacts like Coat of Arms and enchantments like Shared Animosity to use your numbers to your advantage.

Be a control freak! Strip your opponents hand with Ego Drain, say no to their threats with Spell Stutter, wipe the board with Extinction and drop a win con Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign to keep your hand full as you fly over for victory.

Break the rules by combining typal interactions for bombastic effects and combo potential.

Be a snooty aristocrat and sacrifice creatures to control the board with General Kudro of Drannith, draw cards with Species Specialist and drain your opponent using abilities of creatures like Sling-Gang Lieutenant.

Go changeling tribal and build an ETB deck that abuses under supported types like scarecrows Reaper King or kobolds Rohgahh, Kher Keep Overlord.

Use low costed changelings for huge typal effects! Draw all the cards with Azami, Lady of Scrolls. Make a horde of dragon tokens with Lathliss, Dragon Queen. Blink everything for double the ETB triggers with Salvation Swan.

- Epilogue -

I love playing tribal (kindred or typal now) decks and over time developed a fascination with Lorwyn block. This cube was born from those 2 interests. This cube started out years ago as the "Neglected Tribes" cube that focused on weak tribes and slow games. Currently it has become the Kindred Cube (after many changes) and focuses on typal synergy with changeling creatures as the glue.

When considering the inclusion of cards in this cube, I follow a few key guidelines. I have incorporated all changelings that have been printed, as well as non-creature spells that can generate changeling tokens. Due to the limited number of changelings available, this cube is capped at a maximum size of 450 cards. My goal is to enhance the ASFN of changelings to ensure that drafters can encounter multiple changelings during each draft. If I wanted to expand the cube's size, I would have to modify the singleton rule for changelings or incorporate additional cards like Maskwood Nexus, but I am not considering that option at the moment.

All cards must include rules text that references creature types. For instance, while Ulvenwald Observer is a strong Treefolk creature and possesses an ability that complements the high toughness characteristic of Treefolk, it does not meet my criteria for inclusion because its ability does not reference the Treefolk creature type (or any other creature type). I strive to include a diverse array of typal abilities and creature types in the cube. Additionally, I aim to elevate the overall power level without allowing any single creature type to become dominant.

I decided to incorporate a selection of 2- and 3-color lands to support the playability of three-or-more color decks. A mana base consisting of shock and fetch lands could expedite gameplay; however, since mechanics like Landfall, Delirium, and Threshold are not featured in this cube, such lands would not contribute significantly to gameplay and have therefore been excluded. Instead, I have included five "Landscapes" to facilitate the search for basic lands and provide color fixing for colorless mana (c).
