Jungles of Valenyr (Fan Made Set)
Cycles ago the orcs of this island dredged up something which would wreck havoc for cycles to come. A dangerous anglerfish brought with it a virus that required immediate action. The Leyline of Stagnation was crafted using their ceramic skills which put an atomic pause to their continent. Every cell from there on out was prevented from growing. No new plants but also no spreading of disease. All sorts of consequences followed. Every bug, with their short life span, died out almost immediately. Nobody would age, no new children would be born, and the undead had no means to decay. A small quirk to this dramatic decree included trapping every soul in the land itself. Sealing countless civilians among the trees and mist.
As people realized the benefits of this curse vampires conquered the island. A lich and her clones took command of the island's huge zombie population. While the last surviving dragon found shelter, hoping to extend her life before disease took her species to the history books.
40 cycles later what little population is left take it upon themselves to end this curse. Deciphering a cryptic ballad while collecting its forgotten stanzas in order to shatter the ceramic artifact and bring peace to the spirits it had shackled.
This is a multicolor supported graveyard matters draft environment. It has a strong subtheme of tokens and resource management. Cards were designed to reward patience and splashing.
Accurate
(If unblocked, this creature may deal its combat damage to an untapped creature defending player controls.)
A mechanic to represent combat prowess without the creature turning into The Abyss
Dissents
(As a Dissent enters each player chooses to Conform or Resist. Only resistors can attack it, any conformer may protect it. When it’s defeated, exile it, then cast it transformed.)
There are conflicts which have shaped the outcome of Valenyr's fate. Each player chooses one side or the other. Will you agree and make peace perhaps work towards a common goal, or disagree and be caught in a struggle?
Fleeting
(After a fleeting spell resolves it goes to exile instead of the graveyard.)
Some things were never made to last. Mostly a mechanical fix to the Disturb with some niche applications elsewhere.
Leverage
Leverage — If you control less lands than an opponent (Ability)
Valenyr is not a big island. Every bit of territory makes the difference. But those who are not tied down sometimes have an advantage.
Lineage
(You may play this card for its Lineage cost from outside the game if you exile a card that shares a subtype with this from your graveyard. It enters with a finality counter.)
To highlight the vampire's ascent to power and firm control on the island. It is and is meant to feel broken allowing them to to gain card advantage like the spirits.
Mist Tokens
, Sacrifice this enchantment: Target creature you control phases out.
The gold dragon brought with her an unending bellows of mist, easy to slip in and out of hiding at a moments notice.
Silvered
(If a creature is dealt lethal damage by a silvered source, it goes to exile instead of dying)
In a world where death is just a change of body, any trace of silver means a true fate not even the ghosts can avoid.
Unless I have a free weekend, there are just too many to list. Taking every liberty available in regards to not being constrained by real world considerations. Future Sight supremacy.
