In 1992, the four colours of magic lived in balance, but unbeknownst to them, a fifth colour was also created, to rule over all of the others...

In 'The Flood' I have injected a shot of UU into my retired four colour cube (No Blues), with the specific intention of complimenting and revising existing archetypes.

The gameplay should promote players developing and considering their board states, interacting with opponents pieces and provide multiple decision points with the inclusion of activated abilities, land and graveyards mechanics.

The cube is not rarity or singleton restricted. I will look to remove power outliers in the cube to improve the variety of gameplay and allow many cards across the cube to shine

My goals to development and improve my (main) cube include

  1. Foster a fun cube gameplay experience, removing "feel bad" and "unbeatable" cards
  2. To reward players drafting well by providing overlapping synergistic card choices.
  3. Improving the experience and legibility of the draft, by minimising different card templates and picking versions of cards with reminder text.
  4. Reducing the amount of narrow archetype cards and 'sideboard' cards to improve match speed across an evening.

My aim for the cube is not to push colour pairing Archetypes, but present overlapping themes across the blue shards

The 6 Blue Shard concepts:

Jeskai wru Artifacts

Sultai bgu Graveyard Matters

Esper wbu Tokens

Temur rgu Spells matter

Bant wgu Counters

Grixis bru Discard and Draw Synergies

And the most important priority:
Supporting the multiverse's greatest Warriors with a small tribal theme

wubrg Warriors

Updating after a full 12 person draft and introduction of the new Ixalan set

We drafted in one pod of 12 for ease, but I think this made the draft experience less engaging as players couldn't map out their draft and think about wheeling

In the card list update, I look to balance removal quality, remove threats that proved unbeatable - such as the protected Glyphseeker.
I think two card combo's like Cat/Oven also didn't provide a particularly fun experience during the draft.

I didn't want to make too many updates without the play data to back it up particularly as I was really happy with the variety of decks that were drafted.

I'm really interested in pushing a land theme a bit more, so I've added in the new cycle of creature lands to support.
