Each eye sees a different possibility for tomorrow.

Untap

This cube was born out of a simple, but silly idea: What if every player could pretend to play lantern control?

Hence, the cube has an additional rule to magic play,

“Both players begin the game with a Codex Shredder and a Lantern of Insight in exile, and may cast these cards”

Upkeep

This added rule has a couple of implications upon how the game works:

First, in knowing what the top card of each players deck is, you can attempt to control the flow of play, milling cards you don’t want to draw off the top of your deck, or removing cards you don’t your opponent to draw from the top of theirs.

This also leads to interesting decisions with cards such as Predict, Caustic Bronco, Impromptu Raid and others as to what should be named and when they should be activated.

Control of the Opponent’s deck also gives you card selection with the effects of cards such as Ramirez DePietro, Pillager, Goblin Guide, and control of your own in addition to helping draws improves the efficacy of cards such as Augur of Autumn

The Act of Milling itself can be beneficial as well, given the fair number of cards which could be cast from the graveyard, or allow you to return cards from the graveyard to play, or which benefit from putting your own cards into the graveyard

Second, starting with a Codex Shredder and a Lantern of Insight also means that you are starting with two artifacts in play from the jump, and so you’ll find cards that make use of them in various ways, whether tapping them for value,

Caring about them being on the battlefield

Or sacrificing them for an advantage

Draw

Know going into it, this cube is unbalanced. Some cards are incredibly strong when you have the ability to fill your graveyard or start with 2 artifacts in play no matter what, and I just hope this is unbalanced in a fun way!
