In order to gain power from The City, one must pay tribute.

Rules The City

A single copy of City of Shadows begins the game in play.

At the beginning of each turn, the active player will gain control of City of Shadows unless the other player wishes to start betting tokens to have it instead.

Here's how this works:
  1. The active player will attempt to claim The City from the Neutral Zone.
  2. The non-active player may then sacrifice a token to claim The City instead; if they do...
  3. The active player may sacrifice a token to reclaim use of The City for the turn.

Repeat steps 2-3 until a player elects to not sacrifice a token. The last person to have sacrificed a token this way is then awarded use of The City until end of turn. If no player sacrificed a token the active player gains control of the city.

The player not awarded use of The City for the turn is given a Clue Token.

At the end of each turn City of Shadows is returned to the Neutral Zone. All counters on The City remain on it.

Gemstone mine was the third land I chose because early game it makes mana then it does nothing, which forces players to utilize City of Shadows more. This proved to really bottleneck the coloured mana available and slow gameplay down so I'm swapping it out for City of Brass.

I'm also exchanging Path to Exile for Suspend because it encourages players to utilize the eldrazi processors more so the thing exiled does not come back. Like the swap to city of brass, I hope this speeds up gameplay
