Cloned from peasant oldborder
The best premodern era (4th to scourge) cards printed at common or uncommon at some point. The goal is powerful, but not broken. There are a lot of power outliers included, and there are ways to defeat them included. There are creatures that change color to combat protection, and lots of ways to destroy or otherwise neutralize regenerating threats.
You have to work for your mana fixing, especially in enemy color pairs. Have fun building around a broken enchantment, various graveyard stuffs, cycling, beatdowns or goblins. The archetypes are squishy and the games are interactive.
for the modern magesBURY means destroy and cannot be regenerated
REGENERATE will remove all damage, prevent a creature from dying, tap it, and remove it from combat
PROTECTION is targeted, blocked, enchanted or damaged
BANDING is fantastic in creature decks, ill print out rule cards with examples for banding.
Some personal choices
The only creature types that matter are goblins and dragons, to avoid great creature type update problems.
No morph
No shadow
No graveyard order matters cards
