Cloned from Peasant Cube

This is a peasant cube designed to resemble an extremely high power retail draft format. This cube takes cues from modern limited with a focus on tempo and micro-synergies. Archetypes are broad and overlapping to add depth and replayability. There are also plenty of nostalgic and powerful cards from old limited formats that can still hang in a modern environment, such as Swords to Plowshares and Flametongue Kavu.

This is a singleton cube comprised only of commons and uncommons, with a few exceptions:

  • I've included three cycles of rare lands: temples, painlands and pathways, to provide some slightly better mana fixing options, something c/u rarities are sorely lacking.
  • City of Brass and Fabled Passage are 2-ofs in the draft to help bolster multicolor aggro decks or for splashing.
  • I've included a handful of rares to fill in gaps in the peasant card pool: Crux of Fate, Hallowed Burial, Soul-Scar Mage, Baral, Chief of Compliance and Mystic Snake. All of these are on a similar powerlevel to existing uncommons and I think their presence is an overall improvement to the cube.
  • One Squadron Hawk appears in the draft, but whoever drafts it adds four copies to their pool.

Archetypes:
Most color pairs support multiple styles of play. There is considerable overlap to make picks more interesting and avoid drafting "on rails." Focus is on micro-synergies and macro-archetypes over more narrowly defined decks and strategies. Splashing a third or even fourth color is feasible if a drafter feels daring.
