Type 4 Rules

Type 4 is a multiplayer format (ideally 4-6 players)

All players have infinite mana of all colors and types at all times

Each player may only play one spell on each turn

Alternate casting cost cards are an exception to the one spell per turn rule. Casting a card with an alternate casting cost (e.g. Flashback) or with an ability that says "without paying its mana cost" (e.g. Suspend) does not count as a player's spell for that turn. Additional costs for the alternate casting cost (e.g. exiling a blue card for Misdirection or returning Island for Thwart) are not paid.

Players draft (ideally Rochester) approximately 40 card decks. Decks can also be randomly distributed to save time. While Rochester drafting each player may, before their first pick, use one mulligan per draft. This mulligan will replace the current cards to be drafted with a new set.

After shuffling each player reveals the bottom card of their library. The player with the highest mana value bottom card goes first. In the event of a tie all tied players reveal the next card from the bottom of their library and repeat the process.

The starting hand size is 5 cards. Players have no maximum hand size.

Drawing a card from an empty library does not cause a player to lose the game. If a player would draw a card from an empty library instead they don't.

Players may play one land per turn. This does not count as a spell.

If a player loses the game they can be returned to the game by any of the following cards played by another player during that same game: Once More with Feeling, Sway of the Stars, Worldfire
