Cloned from Clone of Bloomburrow Remastered

Cloned from Bloomburrow Remastered

Introduction

Up to 8 players draft a more powerful and condensed version of Bloomburrow limited. Pack design imitates play boosters but increases the number of rares and adds a special guest in every booster.

Booster Design

Three boosters of each:

8 commons
4 uncommons
2 rares
1 special guest

Commons have up to three copies, everything else is signleton.

Almost every common and uncommon is featured.

The special guest slot has flavor-appropriate cards from other sets. They are separated as rarity "special".
Filter r:s to see only special guest cards.
Viashino has been officially errata'd to be lizards.

Draft Archetypes

wu: Birds (Fliers with non-fliers)
ub: Rats (Threshold control)
br: Lizards ("Opponents losing life" matters aggro)
rg: Raccoons (Expend midrange ramp)
gw: Rabbits (Tokens go-wide)
wb: Bats (Life gain/loss flyers)
ur: Otters (Spellslinger and Prowess tempo)
bg: Squirrels (Food and Graveyard matters midrange)
rw: Mice (Valiant aggro)
gu: Frogs (Flicker & Bounce midrange)

A Classic Set, Remade (Design Goals)

β€’ πŸ’Ž Embellish a piece of magic's booster history.
--> keep as much of the original format intact while creating a more modern, deep and varied limited environment

β€’ βš–οΈ Balance trumps pure nostalgia.
--> rebalance card distribution, rarity and, in some cases, oracle text
--> nerf overpowered bombs and cut unplayable draft-chaff
--> balance the mana curve of each color and further support archetype synergies to make any color-combination fun and playable.

β€’ πŸƒ Make flavorful additions from other releases that fit the set's themes, art and mechanics.
--> Special Guest or Bonus-Sheet type of inserts that create extra variance and surprise veteran drafters.

β€’ πŸ’ͺ🏼 Gameplay feels more like block constructed decks rather than the original booster-draft format as decks are generally more powerful.
--> Commons are still valuable, decks are just more synergistic and reliable (fixing, mana curve)

β€’ πŸ’Έ Small & Affordable
--> Easy assembly, low barrier to entry

Remastered Balance Changes

These optional erratas are meant to help improve upon a few issues that a lot of people have with this format:

  • Green is too good in every rarity and is the most drafted color by a large margin.
  • Blue is weak, especially it's rares are below average (even when I left out the most underwhelming ones already).
  • Red also underperforms with Blue-Red being the worst pair.
  • Card-selection and card-draw are too rare and flooding out or getting mana screwed is far too prevalent.
