🔥 Recommended use of rule 300.3."Mana Burn" while playing the Cube 🔥
This format aims to be a budget alternative to popular nostalgic old school drafts, while also avoiding the use of the famous Power IX. Overall making it a more balanced drafting experience and allowing other powerful cards to shine;
4th edition and Chronicles both have original arts from Alpha/Beta, Legends, Arabian Nights and The Dark, while also being more affordable and balanced than those previous sets. Making the pairing of those sets one of the best old school drafts out there.
Why Chronicles?
Chronicles was the first compilation set ever printed. It was not considered an official expansion, but an extension of Fourth Edition, so it's only logical for it to be paired with that core set;
Additionally, Chronicles has some historical value, it being the set that "caused" the establishment of the infamous Reserved List due to it's reprints of cards like Nicol Bolas tanking the prices and upsetting many collectors at the time.
EDH Draft This cube can also be played as an old-school EDH Cube with 2-4 players:Special token cards were first printed for Unglued, in 1998. But the cube felt a little lifeless with cards like The Hive not having fitting tokens to be placed onto the battlefield.
So I took the liberty of creating some tokens using Magic Set Editor, as well as some cards to serve as reminder text for unfamiliar mechanics/rules like Banding and Mana Burn.
To aid as an introduction to the cube standard draft.
