My first Battle Box!

All cards are mana value 3 or less, to maximize the interesting decisions made over the course of a round. I've included some X spells, plenty of kicker costs, a zillion charms, and some split cards and adventures where each side is 3 or less.

Rules:

  • Each player grabs a chunk of cards out of the box to form their deck. No counting needed, so long as they're roughly the same height.
  • In their command zones, players each start with 11 lands: 5 basics, 5 guildgates, and 1 Arch of Orazca for late-game gas. Players can play one land from their command zone each turn. There are no lands or rampant growth effects in the box.
  • Roll for starting player. P2 gets to pick their preferred set of lands (favorite basic land art, and choice of allied vs enemy guildgates). P2 starts with a Treasure Token in play. P1 skips their first draw step, as usual.
  • Each player starts with 20 life and a 5-card hand. No mulligans.
  • Players each have their own deck and graveyard. A card is "owned" by whoever drew it from their deck. This card list has avoided any deck searching or shuffling effects. The decks are functionally bottomless; if a player's deck is getting low, they can grab some more cards from the box to add to the bottom. Any card sent to the bottom of a player's deck is AWOL, basically out of the game permanently.
