Cloned from #1 Rickard's 540 Premodern Cube
Cloned from Rickard's 540 Premodern Cube
This is a fusion cube. I combined my premodern cube and my Old School cube and topped it off with some broken stuff like necropotence, land tax and a couple of new old frame cards.
I removed the onslaught fetches, but kept the slow fetches. Just to keep the grindy feel of 1999.
This cube has been through a lot of changes and adjustments.
The first draft was made playable in 2020, consisting of 60% proxies and wasn't really coherent at all- Just a bunch of overpowered cards thrown together for people to have a good laugh at.
As of now the cube contains ZERO proxies.
The current version of the cube focuses quite a bit on the current premodern meta archetypes.
Threshold, Cycling, madness and discard synergies are used quite a lot in this cube to expand and extend the gameplay and the possibilities to make use of some cards more than once- But beware! Black LOVES this, and there's plenty of recursion. Also, there's not a lot graveyard hate!
Here's examples of the paths you can go when drafting:
: hand disruption, removal and reanimation.
: counter and bounce your way to victory.
: More creatures, a little less burn, ponza.
: creatures, ramp and enchantments.
: Weenie, Multifunctional enchantments.
It's grindy, it's interactive and it's a lot of fun. Especially if you take your time and enjoy this cube with friends. Try not to have any time limit on the drafting or the actual matches, because as previously mentioned: It's gonna get grindy.
Sometimes you might have to sting your opponent to death with a 1/1 snake or pegasus token, and it's not even that unpleasant. Quite the opposite actually.
It is universal and multilateral, to say the least.
A few things to keep in mind for my own sake
