My first and so far only assembled cube, Fair and Interactive Magic was designed around three key tenets:

  1. The themes (with some exceptions) are drawn from the Mercadian Masques block, particularly the Prophecy expansion.

  2. Each card was, at the time of design, available at a price point under $1.00CAD (some cards like Oasis were purchased in a printing worth more than the cheapest option).

  3. The cards used would be cards seen very infrequently or not at all by most people playing constructed formats such as Modern or EDH/Commander.

There are exceptions to each of the above tenets, but they stay true for 95% of the cards in this cube. To draft it is to find new and strange cards that allow for different interactions and strategies than you're expecting to see. The gameplay is much more focused on creatures and supporting them, yet spells can completely change what happens on the battlefield. And with 720 cards to draft, the cube can support a large number of players and continually surprise a smaller group with new draft seedings.

It is my hope that anyone who buys, assembles, proxies, or test-drafts this cube can draw some inspiration from the cards within. Thanks for viewing Fair and Interactive Magic and happy drafting!
