Welcome,

The Power for the People cube is a power-maximized peasant cube. The goal was to produce the most powerful experience possible within the peasant (printed at uncommon or lower rarity) restrictions while still adhering to good limited design principles and creating an enjoyable play experience(for you, maybe not your opponent).

The cube includes cards from absolutely any possible source including sets exclusive to MTGO and MTG Arena.

Special Rules

  1. The cube is intended to be played with snow basics. This makes snow costs effectively the same as normal mana costs for two color decks

  2. Sol Ring and Ancient Tomb are banned. The mana acceleration these provide is too much even for this format. Also, hexproof is excluded from lower mana values.

  3. Several cards with the "Learn" mechanic from the Strixhaven expansion are included. The complete set of common and uncommon "Lesson" cards from the Strixhaven expansion are then available in a player's sideboard to pair with their learn cards. There are currently 14 lessons as of May 2024. Multiple learn cards do not create extra copies of lessons in the sideboard, only a Singleton set is provided.

  4. Draft matters cards. Currently, one "draft matters" card is present in the cube that alters the mechanics of selecting cards. Cogwork Librarian from the original Conspiracy expansion.

Explicit Combo Support
A differentiating factor from other peasant cubes is dedicated support for combo decks. Here are the seeded combos

  1. Persist combo based around an free sacrifice outlet like Carrion Feeder, a persist creature like Murderous Redcap, and a means of negating the -1/-1 counter such as Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit

  2. Scurry Oak combos which look to place counters on Scurry Oak to create infinite squirrels. Pairs include Ivy Land Denizen and Rosie Cotton.

  3. Ghostly Flicker combo using Ghostly Flicker and either Peregrine Drake or Cloud of Faeries to untap bounce lands to generate infinite mana. You need a means of recurring the Ghostly Flicker like Shipwreck Dowser. Kill through an infinite Rolling Thunder or by flickering the OTJ deserts

  4. Laboratory Maniac and Demonic Consultation to win with no library

  5. Tinker with large artifacts such as Sphinx of the Guildpact

  6. Channel with large artifacts or Eldrazi
