This is what to expect from each color identity in the cube.
Blue - Control spells, card draw, evasive creatures, and a few big fish.
Black - Strong removal spells, creatures that trade well, and lots of recursion.
Green - Ramp spells, mana dorks, small defensive creatures, and big mana creatures.
Red - Direct damage spells, spells for multiple creatures, and aggressive creatures for going wide.
White - Combat tricks, cheap creatures, somewhat evasive creatures, and a few ways to get around big threats.
Colorless - Ramping artifacts and creatures, a few curios, some equipment, and a few big threats.
This is what each color pairing should ideally aim for. The pieces needed for these strategies may be found within the corresponding mono colors, the multi color spells, and/or the colorless artifacts.
Azorius - White/Blue - Control - Bounce/counter/remove big threats, then use evasive creatures to go over stalemate board states
Dimir - Blue/Black - Control - Counter/remove big threats and trade small creatures until you can amass a lethal amount of evasive creatures.
Rakdos - Black/Red - Aggro - Go wide with small creatures, then use removal, direct damage, or a sac outlet to get lethal in.
Gruul - Red/Green - Tempo - Keep attacking, then use a big creature/direct damage/removal to get lethal in.
Selesnya - Green/White - Midrange - Establishes board state and buffs creatures, trades with combat tricks, and then gets lethal in with evasive or big creatures.
Orzhov - White/Black - Control - Outlasts with sticky creatures and lifelink. Removes threats then uses evasive creatures to get lethal in.
Izzet - Blue/Red - Tempo - Spellslinger. Play creatures that aid in or respond well to spells being cast. Uses evasive creatures and direct damage for lethal.
Golgari - Black/Green - Midrange - Play creatures to trade with, use recursion and combat tricks to get value until you can amass lethal.
Boros - Red/White - Aggro - The widest. Plays many cheap creatures, uses combat tricks and has many options for removing blockers, as well as direct damage for lethal. Also has a chance of an equipment subtheme.
Simic - Green/Blue - Big Mana - Uses spells, creatures, and artifacts to ramp quickly and play big threats.
