Do you miss the summers of Core Set drafting? Are you mourning the death of core sets for a second time? Then I present to you all the first edition of The Core Set Cube.
The idea is a small list to be drafted with newer players or people looking for good clean games of magic.
The rules for inclusions were that I couldn't pick a card that wasn't printed in a core set
The size of the cube is left smaller than usual because options for aggro decks start to become undesirable past what I've already included.
You might notice that there are no gold cards in the core set cube. While Gold cards have been an inclusion since M13, I do not feel that they are representative of what I enjoy about Core Set drafting. Options for color fixing are slim to reflect this as well. In fact, Planeswalkers almost didn't make it in either, but they have been around since M11 and I feel that since over a decade has passed since their inclusion in Core Sets that they got a pass.
