This cube is designed for Innistrad lovers. It features iconic cards (Liliana of the Veil, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Griselbrand, Snapcaster Mage, etc.) and mechanics from all Innistrad editions.
What you'll find in each color :
: Lot of Humans (Champion of the Parish, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Silverblade Paladin, and much more !) Probably one of the most aggressive colors of the cube, but still able to support control with 3 mass removals (including the famous Terminus).
: Tempo, card advantage and cantrips to support your Spirits, Zombies or Spells Matter decks, with access to powerful planeswalkers (Tamiyo, the Moon Sage and Jace, Unraveler of Secrets) and miracles (Temporal Mastery and Devastation Tide).
: Sacrifice engines, Zombies (sometimes both in one card such as Ravenous Rotbelly), Vampires (would you be able to transform Bloodline Keeper ?). Black also encompasses some unconditionnal removals like Infernal Grasp - make sure to pick them high as they are quite scarce !
: Aggro pieces and direct damages to quickly end the game (your opponent has 9 life left and you've got Vexing Devil and Brimstone Volley in hand ?). Red still features end-curve creatures for a more control gameplay - like replenishing your hand with Bedlam Reveler after a Blasphemous Act or ramping into the allmighty Balefire Dragon in your Gruul deck.
: Large creatures such as Tovolar's Huntmaster, Avabruck Caretaker or Cultivator Colussus that are even scarier when launched earlier on curve thanks to numerous ramp tools like Heronblade Elite, Somberwald Sage or Cryptolith Rite.
The cube archetypes are each supported by 4 gold cards, and are the following:
: Spirits tempo, but Drogskol Reaver can be a good reason to play Azorius control.
: Sacrifice - will you dare to sacrifice Humans (Gather the Townfolk, Increasing Devotion) to feed demons such as Harvester of Souls, Reaper from the Abyss or the risky Ravenous Demon ?
also supports Reanimator, with 3 reanimation spells within the cube (plus one if splashing
) and numerous relevant targets.
: Humans aggro - populate the board with cards like Hanweir Garrison or Adeline, Resplendent Cathar and finish the game with Riders of Gavony or Zealous Conscripts
: Humans go wide and counters - let your creatures become gigantic thanks to Thalia's lieutenant, Mikaeus, the Lunarch or Kyler, Sigardian Emissary.
: Zombies - generate a ton of value with Gisa and Geralf or Headless Rider and deploy large threats like Grimgrin, Corpse-Born or Skaab Ruinator.
: Spells Matter - play instants and sorceries to maximize value from Manaform Hellkite, Seize the Storm or Rise from the Tides.
: Ramp and assemble delirium to cheat your spells earlier in the game ! Will you manage to cast Emrakul, the Promised End ?
: Vampires aggro (super aggro when it comes to play Stromkirk Noble on T1). Madness will support your strategy but only has a few cards - be sure to prioritize them because you will not be the only one to want them !
: Fill your graveyard with creatures to benefit from Old Stickfingers, Splinterfright, Kessig Cagebreakers or cast the colossal Ghoultree early in the game.
: Assemble an army of powerful Werewolves (Huntmaster of the Fells, Kruin Outlaw, Instigator Gang and transform them all while keeping an instant or a flash creature (Spirit of the hunt, Briarpack Alpha, Pack Guardian) for your opponent turn.
I tried to make quite every card in the cube to fit in one of those archetypes, but feel free to express your creativity and play whatever you love - mono humans,
control, or even
ramp to tempo with Tamiyo, Field Researcher until concluding the game with Army of the Damned !
